Rum pot or rumtopf are popular in Europe in winter and go well with rich meat, strudel or pie as well as ice cream. We used to start them at the beginning of the year with fruits as they were coming into season, adding sugar and rum throughout the year with the final layer in Fall so it was ready for Yule.
